Unique Client Solutions’ Guide to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Weekend

In order to make the most of the extended weekend in honour of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne, Unique Client Solutions has come up with a guide to help everyone celebrate.

The majority of the events that are being held to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee are occurring in London. The Thames River Pageant on Sunday 3rd will see up to 1000 boats navigating the river between Battersea Bridge and Tower Bridge. The Queen herself will be part of the pageant and there will be 50 screens in place along the route so everyone should be able to enjoy the day!

Unique Client Solutions believes the main event of the weekend will be the Buckingham Palace Concert. The concert, which is being held on the Bank Holiday Monday, has a variety of acts performing such as Jessie J, Paul McCartney and Madness. There is expected to be around 20,000 attending the concert but people without tickets will still be able to watch the concert live on BBC.

An event that is taking place across the country is the Big Jubilee Lunch that is planned for Sunday 3rd. For the Big Lunch, people are encouraged to eat with neighbours and friends as part of the celebrations. This can be in the form of a traditional street party or as a picnic! The last main event of the long weekend is a more formal one, on the Tuesday 5th there will be a Service of Thanksgiving and then a carriage procession by the Queen.

In Sheffield, where Unique Client Solutions are based, there are also a number of events to be enjoyed by the residents and any visitors to the area over the weekend. Jubilee Beacons will be lit in over 6 locations, including Chapeltown Park and Mayfield Valley. On Saturday morning there will be a service at Minster of St George to celebrate the Queen’s 60 year reign whilst on Monday 4th there is a huge celebration happening in Weston Park where there will be live music throughout the day!

Unique Client Solutions also wants to offer a few tips to make sure you can enjoy the weekend as much as possible:
·         Plan any journey you might take in advance, and allow plenty of time to get around
·         Don’t drive into London unless absolutely necessary as many roads are close and traffic is likely to be busy
·         Check the times of last trains, and leave early if you’re worried about getting home

A spokesperson from Unique Client Solutions commented on the upcoming celebrations saying, “It’s amazing that our Queen has been on the throne for 60 years and its great for the whole country that we get an extra two days to celebrate. We can only hope that the weather stays nice for the celebrations and that everyone is able to enjoy themselves!”
