Unique Client Solutions Encouraged By Sheffield Plan to Create 5,000 Jobs

A £92 million plan to create 5,000 jobs and improve businesses in South Yorkshire has caught the attention of Unique Client Solutions.

Unique Client Solutions was intrigued to learn more about the bold plan to create much needed jobs in South Yorkshire. They understand that the money, provided by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, is intended to support infrastructure projects to help speed up the development of Sheffield’s Enterprise Zone which in turn will boost investment to the region and create more jobs.

The partners behind the plan believe that it will cause the private sector to invest heavily in the region and create around 5,000 jobs, some of which will be during the building of the enterprise zone. Iain Taylor, one of the partners of the group, said “This is a bold, ambitious response to the economic situation driven by the private sector, which now seeks government support to accelerate development of these key Enterprise Zone sites.”

A spokesperson for Unique Client Solutions believes that whilst this plan is encouraging there are still some concerns. “There is no doubt that any plans which help improve private sector investment are welcome. At Unique Client Solutions we feel that the sector is going to be key in aiding the financial recovery of the UK. Our concerns lie in the fact that lots of these jobs are temporary and we need long-term positions so that people can create a stable financial situation for themselves and their families.”

The funding is also intended to improve the route between he Sheffield and Rotherham Enterprise zone sites by connecting them with the motorway. Money is also being set aside to improve super-fast broadband links at both sites, the scheme has been regularly championed by Unique Client Solutions.

The spokesperson concluded, “There have been a wide range of promising plans put in place to create jobs in Sheffield and unfortunately we haven’t seen much come of them so far. This plan certainly seems well thought-out and encouraging, we will watch its progress with interest at Unique Client Solutions.”

Unique Client Solutions Ask: Is Poor Maintenance Slowing Broadband?

Unique Client Solutions has recently read a report suggesting that businesses and homeowners are suffering from slow broadband speeds simply because they’re not maintaining them enough.

A report by internet provider TalkTalk has suggested that simple DIY maintenance of broadband networks in corporate and home premises could speed up their connections. Unique Client Solutions, who provide customer acquisitions to the broadband industry read the report with interest particularly considering that plans for super-fast broadband speeds are well under way.

TalkTalk’s chief engineer Dan Downham has said that faulty wiring and poorly configured routers are the cause of the majority of connectivity problems. He added that these problems can be fixed by businesses or homeowners very easily. “A bit of basic home maintenance and some re-jigging of the wiring…could speed up internet connections no end.”

The news comes as cities around the UK are finding out whether they have received the necessary funding to install super-fast broadband that will allow speeds of up to 100Mb. Unique Client Solutions were delighted when they found out that Sheffield and the surrounding area would be one of the regions to receive the new technology which will see some of the fastest speeds in the world as standard.

A spokesperson for Unique Client Solutions said, “Business leaders have been raising the issue of a need for faster broadband for some time now. There is no doubt that the introduction of super-fast broadband around the UK is a huge step forward and incredibly welcome, however this news from TalkTalk is something that all businesses and homeowners should take note of. Just like a well maintained car runs well, broadband should be looked after with the same care if you want your internet to work well.”

The report suggested that broadband speeds of up to 4Mb are being lost from peoples internet connections for an estimated half a million homes in the UK due to bad internet set ups. The spokesperson for Unique Client Solutions continued, “These are significant figures. Most broadband providers have helpful technology teams who are on hand to talk through any issues, if you think your speed is significantly slower than it should be then it’s probably worth giving them a call.”

Unique Client Solutions Unsurprised at Graduates Worth

Unique Client Solutions looks into a recent report which shows that graduates contribute to the economy 10 times what it costs to educate them.

The topic of graduate unemployment is one which Unique Client Solutions has been discussing a great deal recently. So a University and Colleges Union (UCU) report showing that their contribution to the economy is 10 times what they cost the government to educate them is unsurprising. The customer acquisitions firm looks into the report in more detail.

The report reveals that graduates bring in £180,000 more than those simply with A-levels over their working career and the average degree costs the state approximately £18,800 per student. Unique Client Solutions finds these staggering figures worrying as the government starts in their latest reforms with the cost of a degree tripling. Their report suggests that these changes will limit the number of graduates that the UK produces and will damage the country’s ability to compete with other countries globally.

Comparing the direction that higher education is heading to other advanced industrialized nations is also concerning. Back in 2000 the UK had the third highest number of graduates but by 2008 it had fallen to 15th as countries like China and India invest so much more in their higher education programs. Unique Client Solutions understands that China has quadrupled its number of graduates between 1999 and 2005 and India is planning to create 800 new higher education institutions by 2020.

The UCU general secretary Sally Hunt said “This research shows the huge contribution A-level and degree holders make to our economy and instead of cutting places at college and university ministers should be looking to fast-track learners into the industries of the future.”

A representative for the Sheffield-based Unique Client Solutions said, “This report clearly shows that if the UK isn’t careful we’re going to fall behind our biggest competitors. We have a proud educational heritage in the UK and it’s essential we keep that reputation and make sure that graduates aren’t being forced abroad in search of work. There are plenty of new industries emerging that we can encourage them into and make sure we remain competitive on a global scale.”

Unique Client Solutions Impressed by Get Notts Working Campaign

Unique Client Solutions was thrilled to learn that The Get Notts Working campaign has surpassed all expectations and got some high profile backing.

Unique Client Solutions Nottingham has been discussing for some time the difficulties facing young people when trying to find work. Graduates and school leavers alike have been suffering high rates of unemployment in the economic downturn as most lack the experience that employers want to see. So when the customer acquisitions company heard about the Get Notts Working campaign they were thrilled that the city was taking things into their own hands.

The scheme aimed to find 100 new apprenticeships within 100 days but Unique Client Solutions understands that with 30 days still to go, local businesses have already promised 170 places and the campaign has raised their target to 200. Furthermore the scheme got public backing yesterday from Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable. He said, “I think it’s a brilliant initiative…It really supports the local city in the best possible way. The fact you’ve almost reached your 200 target is an enormous achievement.”

A spokesperson for Unique Client Solutions Nottingham said, “We’re so pleased that Nottingham has really go stuck into the problem of unemployment. Unique Client Solutions’ Guide to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Weekend

In order to make the most of the extended weekend in honour of the Queen’s 60 years on the throne, Unique Client Solutions has come up with a guide to help everyone celebrate.

The majority of the events that are being held to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee are occurring in London. The Thames River Pageant on Sunday 3rd will see up to 1000 boats navigating the river between Battersea Bridge and Tower Bridge. The Queen herself will be part of the pageant and there will be 50 screens in place along the route so everyone should be able to enjoy the day!

Unique Client Solutions believes the main event of the weekend will be the Buckingham Palace Concert. The concert, which is being held on the Bank Holiday Monday, has a variety of acts performing such as Jessie J, Paul McCartney and Madness. There is expected to be around 20,000 attending the concert but people without tickets will still be able to watch the concert live on BBC.

An event that is taking place across the country is the Big Jubilee Lunch that is planned for Sunday 3rd. For the Big Lunch, people are encouraged to eat with neighbours and friends as part of the celebrations. This can be in the form of a traditional street party or as a picnic! The last main event of the long weekend is a more formal one, on the Tuesday 5th there will be a Service of Thanksgiving and then a carriage procession by the Queen.

In Sheffield, where Unique Client Solutions are based, there are also a number of events to be enjoyed by the residents and any visitors to the area over the weekend. Jubilee Beacons will be lit in over 6 locations, including Chapeltown Park and Mayfield Valley. On Saturday morning there will be a service at Minster of St George to celebrate the Queen’s 60 year reign whilst on Monday 4th there is a huge celebration happening in Weston Park where there will be live music throughout the day!

Unique Client Solutions also wants to offer a few tips to make sure you can enjoy the weekend as much as possible:
·         Plan any journey you might take in advance, and allow plenty of time to get around
·         Don’t drive into London unless absolutely necessary as many roads are close and traffic is likely to be busy
·         Check the times of last trains, and leave early if you’re worried about getting home

A spokesperson from Unique Client Solutions commented on the upcoming celebrations saying, “It’s amazing that our Queen has been on the throne for 60 years and its great for the whole country that we get an extra two days to celebrate. We can only hope that the weather stays nice for the celebrations and that everyone is able to enjoy themselves!”
