Unique Client Solutions is delighted that superfast
broadband is due to be rolled-out across the UK, starting in nearby Lancashire, in the coming months. The customer acquisitions company looks at what this
means for the public and businesses.
A £62.5 million project to connect 97% of all properties in
the UK to superfast broadband is to begin in the coming months. Unique Client Solutions understands that speeds will rise from an average of 7mbps to up to
300mbps in some areas and 80mbps in most others. For areas that are not covered
by the commercial funding, public money will be used. Almost £130 million in
investment is expected in Lancashire and with many more projects around the UK due
to be announced shortly local schemes will be supported by money from the
central government.
BT is expected to carry out most of the upgrades in rural
areas but much of the country will go out to commercial tender with providers
such as TalkTalk and Sky likely to be the front-runners. What does Unique Client Solutions think will be the impact of the project? Manager, Simon
Tomlinson said, “This is a massive leap forward for internet supply in the UK.
The country is going to see some of the fastest speeds in the world. People in
rural areas are going to see the biggest change and we’re looking forwards for
the upgrade in our area which will help improve businesses around the country.”
As a company that provides outsourced sales to some of the
biggest names in the telecommunications industry Unique Client Solutions is
delighted that it means that their clients are going to be able to offer their
customers a world class service. The project is expected to be completed by
2016.
